Well it's been a week since my last post, I figured I should put out a little update.
So the wig came Friday, yay! I like the way it looks and when it's on you can't even tell it's a wig, success! It was so nice to have my hair back, I missed it.
I went to the doctor today and my blood counts are coming up, which is fantastic:). Even my platelets finally are coming around. I already had two transfusions over the weekend for them and it was great to hear I didn't need any today! The doctor also decided that we're going to postpone my next chemo a week to give my counts more time to recover and give me more time to gain strength and weight. So I'm going back in March 1st for my last chemo.
Things to Pray For:
- Gain weight and strength-This is a really big one right now, I've lost over 10 lbs. and I'm pretty weak. I need to get stronger to go through more chemo.
- Counts continue to going up.
- A good next round of chemo.
Thank you again for your continued prayers and support, I'll keep you updated on what's going on!
Love,
Karina
You are a STAR!!! I'm not sure if you remember meeting me, I went to a bible study at your parents house this past fall with my husband Caleb. We have been faithfully praying for you, and will continue to pray. I love your up-beat attitude. Your blog is fantastic! I am SO glad your wig came and looks good! I'm so happy to hear that it has gotten easier to eat! Keep gaining weight and strength! I watched project runway last night too... but it might have been a re-run?! Was it the one with the little girls? they were SOOOO cute! Keep your chin up my dear! You are doing such a great job!

Your dad and I were on Young Life staff together back in the stone age and have remained friends through the years - tho for the last 10 years we've been in Alaska. I'm blessed by reading your genuine, honest and insightful words Karina. Your prayer network has reached the far north! Blessings

I hate it when my hair all falls out. Its only happend to me like 10 or 12 times. But you know I feel ya, its a pain in the butt. but on the positive side you can try out new hair styles/colors/stuff that you never could before. I think my favorite one I ever wore was probably the neon blue, and orange one with the spikes.
ReplyDeleteI even thought about some Darth Mall action but decided it was too much trouble.
